Hi, we stayed in a camping pod near Looe, Cornwall last summer. As we were only staying for the weekend, it didn't seem worth erecting our big tent. We had lovely weather and as we didn't have much to set up, we went straight to the sites pool for a swim!
I think the camping pods vary in size from site to site. Ours fitted four camp beds and our electric cool box, our bags were stored under our beds. Once all the beds were in, there was absolutely no room to move, so in the morning we folded the two beds in the middle of the pod and stored them underneath the two others at the side. This gave us much more space and somewhere to sit in the daytime.
We have outhouse XL cooking tent which we were allowed to pitch to the side of our pod. We brought our camping cooker and pans and our dogs slept in the outhouse too as pets were not allowed in the pod. Electric was an option that we took for a small charge.
The pod was clean, secure and much warmer than a tent so you wouldn't need to bring a very warm sleeping bag, but then we were camping in July! I would say, had the weather been awful the pod would have been too small for a family of four, however, for two nights in brilliant weather, it suited us just fine. There would have been a bit more space if we'd not used camp beds but we're wrong side of forty, so not an option!
The advantage for us was the time saved from setting up and taking everything down again enabled us to enjoy the Cornish sunshine!
