Really good to see someone else so enthusiastic and positivley encouraged by have a not great time with their first tent purchase.

It's great fun searching and finding the right tent and equipment though isn't it.

How about Easter hols? May is ages away

Remember to take lots of pictures and post them when you get back (inside and outside)

I camped as a kid but only got back to it 5 years ago. I've added to the collection every year....it takes a long time to gather up and the most important thing to my mind is getting the sleeping right.

I've bought airbeds every single year for the past 5 years, and only this year did I spend more money on a double height airbed and I hope this one lasts - it's certainly more comfy than the previous ones.

I do wish I'd found this site a long time ago, I've got the greatest insight into what and what doesn't work. I'm sure you'll have a great time with all your new gear this summer.

We bought one of those little folding steps for the very same reason - and for me to reach the poles to clip on the tent linings
Think it was about £3 in £stretcher - but have seen them as much as £10 as those JML ones.

folded up

ready to use

for size comparison

i have the same problem with the berlingo roof box - also can't reach the screws inside it on the side with the hinges

Thought about attaching it to the roof bars, then lifting the whole lot up in one go and fitting it to the roof

We use a very large step ladder at home when loading up and that little step when we get there - I still have to let OH get stuff out as I can't reach the back.
