I try to remember to have some baby type wipes with me, then I can always give teh grass a quick wipe if necessary to get rid of any excess.
When i started to read this i thought you were going to say they were for the dog

Our dogs never pee or poo on our pitch/around the tent/caravan. If they are tied to a relatively short lead/rope then they usually wont dirty their own "bed" ie area where they are lying during the day.
Our dogs are regularly walked off-site and we wont allow them to pee up walls/flower beds etc on site when walking around. It goes without saying that we may have no money, cards or tissues in our pockets but we are always well armed with poop bags

The first time we took our dog away in the caravan it took him three days to go,the only place he goes at home is in the lower part of our garden which is covered with gravel. Felt a bit silly walking him round in circles for ages waiting with a bag. Some friends of ours used to have an Afghan and made it wear a nappy when they were showing it Andy
One of my dogs is the same, takes him ages to go the first day - I spend hours (well OK minutes) traipsing round with him saying 'go toilet' until he finally finds a 'spot', he's used to a gravel area in our garden where they go toilet too

Our Greyhound always needs the loo at roughly the same time of day, makes sense as we always feed her in the morning, so is pretty predictable. There is now way she would poo or wee near the tent, as previous posters have said, she considers that home for the days we are away.
Don't worry to much, just stock up on poo bags.

I guess it must a benefit of the crate training but our dog has never once tried to "poo or pee" anywhere near the tent when he has been tethered up. I walk him to the dog area and he does it there, first thing in the morning and just before bed. We are away from the site most of the day on long walks so there's not much of a chance for him to do anything there anyway.

We are lucky in a strange way, Henry, our Basset Hound has a bit of a complex, he wont go where people can see him. If we are out walking he must find a place were no one is about and even then he tries to hide under a bush, even if its just his head, which always makes it so much easier for us to clean up !!
As everyone has said already, clean up and thats all anyone can expect and just enjoy being away with your dog and dont worry yourself.

I was walking down the car free main road in Newquay, Cornwall on a busy Saturday with my lovely male Lab, he's goodlooking so he was basking in all the attention from other shoppers when suddenly...............his lead went tight,
I looked round to find he had left a 10ft trail of Lab sized diarohea behind him, I looked up and found we had stopped outside Costa Coffee.....with a floor to ceiling glass window........ with horrified customers sitting in said window, gasping and holding their hands over their mouths at us through the window - curling up and dying was the easy option at that point!!
If I can live through that, dont worry about about a bit of grass on the campsite, just enjoy having them with you.
And yes I was watched for the whole 25mins it took us to clean it up.......handy tip, Greengrocers still have buckets of water!!!

Thanks everyone for your reassurance. I had become a little worried about it, but you have put me at ease. We have only had her since January and whilst she has settled in well we just aren't sure how she is going to be camping. I will keep a close eye on her, we may be lucky and she may choose to wait until she is walked before going, fingers crossed. But I least I know it wont be a big problem if not, as long as i clean straight up.
As it is the bloody car is playing up so now we aren't sure if we are going to get away at all , hopefully we will be able to sort it out tommorow.
