Rosey, I hope that bucket with a lid which travelled on your lap was filled with everything you could fit in it   Just put a bin liner in the bucket & stuff as many bits'n'bobs in it as you can.

As others have said, use the space under the seats, it's surprising how much you can fit under there. Also, if you have door pockets, put cutlery and utencils etc in them. Do you have pockets on the back of the front seats which you can squash some soft items into?

I just take less now, but it still doesn't stop the OH huffing and puffing when we pack the car.

 If it all went in easily and he didn't have a wobbly I'd be looking about for the tent or a person I'd forgotten.

when we went on our 1st trip last year we had a picasso only had 2 of the guys with us so totally removed the seat.Made an amazing differance.  in my defence we take my scooter too and that takes up half the boot.
