What site was that, sounds like my kind of place.

  just got back from dolgellau ,first time out in a Kampa filey 6.it stood up to everything 40 mile an hour gusts, rain sheeting down.not a drop got in,fantastic.we needed the ehu,fan heater was great too.

I'm sorry all, but we cheated!  I booked a static in Weymouth for Mon - Fri of last week. So glad we did!  The weather was absolutely awful - wind rain and hail shook the static quite a bit so I think the poles on our tigris would have had a tough time!

First camping trip will be May half term - sunshine maybe?

We camped in Lincolnshire from Good Friday to Easter Monday.  We got a real downpour overnight Sunday and into Monday morning.  No snow or frost though.  We were originally going to Keswick but the forecast looked a bit more favourable where we were.  Got to say it could have been a lot worse.  Camped at Keswick last year at Easter and got overnight frost and Easter was mid April.  No EHU as a quick gettaway was all that was required.  It's so good to be outdoors again after this long winter.

Can't wait for May Bank Hol.  

We had a lovely time at Greenhills just outside Bakewell in Derbyshire (after a day's delay due to a trip to A&E after our son fell head first down a tram's staircase at Crich Tramway Museum), even extended our stay by two nights. It was blustery for the first few days, but our Columbia didn't mind. It then cleared up to give some lovely days but chilly nights (and a frosty tent one morning). Our bedding kept us warm along with hot water bottles and it was too warm for dressing gowns by 8.30 in the morning. The side porch on the tent proved invaluable - it was so very muddy after all the rain recently, but the side porch meant that the carpet stayed warm, dry and clean!!!

Lovely facilities at the site too - will certainly go back there again!

It was The Larches at Wigton Cumbria and only a 15 to 20 min drive to a beach for the dogs and no kids which we like as having non of our own we like it quiet

And the toilets were the best i have ever seen on a camp site

we went to Marfit Head Farm in Saltersgate so that we could do some walking on the NY Moors. Very chilly on an evening but with our EHU we were warm enough.

Our Vango Karakum stood up to the challenge, assissted by a qechua tarp. Had beautiful sunshine on the sunday though and got into Whitby to do my favourite thing - shopping at the Tog 24 shop!!!
