Received our Cobb from Mountain Runner (Cheers Ian) this afternoon and it has already had jacket spuds and chocolate rum bananas put through it, OH is a chef and looking into interesting recipes to create, can't wait to unveil the Sunday roast to our camping buds at the end of the month
They're great aren't they? We have tried a chicken on ours. Used the cobblestones and I think 'the 5 min until ready' in the instructions is a little optimistic. The bottom of the chicken got rather burnt The rest of it was lovely though and we can't wait to do a camping roast. You can certainly tell it's been used though, don't think it will ever come properly clean.
I picked up a fab second hand one from a well known auction site :) can anyone advise which is the best / most cost effective fuel?
I've heard of cobblestones and beads being used.....
Thanks :)
------------- Fab time in France again.... Roll on next year!
Does anyone have opinions on the *must have* cobb accessories? A roast rack is on my list so far, not sure the wok would add much to my cooking capabilities. Can you do pizza with just the basic unit?
I am dying to try one of these after I saw The Hairy Bikers make naan breads in one!
Freshly baked naan breads when camping ... does life get much better than that? I reckon that experience would rival the 1st morning cuppa in silence while camping... sheer bliss.
The roasting rack is very handy, can do 2 tier cooking then. In regards to the Wok etc. we found that our biggest household saucepans fit on the stand quite nicely, not sure if the special Cobb ones have notches for stability, but we have decided if we need to fry or boil we have the burners anyway.
