I seemed to bring less home, which is a bit worrying....

i found that at the weekend too.  however, i think if you throw the stuff in the car in a hurry you can make extra space as you pack away.

well done dcope to go away at this time of the year you will love summer and autumn camping.

we too usually have more coming home, but i think thats because we buy stuff when we are there.  food, kids gifts, extras for the seaside all takes up extra space!

They also have a canoe shop on site where you can hire all the kit and go for a dip, i used to do it there when i went to school close by. But not a lot else make sure to bring your own entertainment, tho my lad loved chucking rocks into the river, i tried to lern him how to skim them but he didnt quite get it.

Any tips on pitching it? & how long does it take.

Cheers

There's a few tips on this thread

Spiny.

Edit: Solo pitching takes about 20 mins, with the wife helping it takes about 1 hour (including domestics)

Glad you had a great time!

I've just bought an Icarus 500 and, even though I've not been out in it, yet, I've been looking at the canopy. GoOutdoors are doing them for less than £60, so might have to invest.

i got the large sun caopy for 20 quid of ebay wasnt gonna bay the extra 40 straight away spent enough on other stuff, but wanted the canopy, it realy made a difference.

scott_+_Viv

get the footprint sheet makes it easy to line it all up, follow the utube video but not a lot to go wrong just 3 poles easier if someone else is holding the other side in for you. and when pegging out make sure you use the plastic d ring theres 4 at fron and 4 at the back, losen then before you peg them and then tighten them up.

Just a word of warning about the 'sun' canopy.

We got one last year... it has a major "design flaw".. when its sunny the 'windows' let all the sun in and you boil... we ended up taping newspaper to ours to keep the sun out... this year I am going to stitch on some curtains!

Love the pics. Glad you had a great first time. We too have the icarus with the canopy. Got it last year as a set with the carpet and the footprint. Love the canopy. We use it for all our meals.

We got a bigger car at the end of last year so cant wait to see if everything goes in  comfortably !!! or will the kids end up with pillows on their knees !!!

Cant wait to book somewhere after seeing your pics.
