Can I ask about the ebook reader you have, or anyone else for that matter. What make and model is it and how do they compare as I read Loads...... If going away for a week I take at least 6 books. I have been known to read two a day!!!
As flying to germany a few times this year looking to cut down on suitcase kg.
Have checked out ebay and seems to be a few for sale but confused about different models. Also may not trust it for buying electrical stuff.
Thanksx
Oh read lots of crime also. Used to read Science Fantasy but selling all those now.

Hi Wireweaver,
I have had my BeBook a couple of years now and so have had time to build up a fair no of books on it. It came comlete with the best 100 classics ie Thomas Hardy, Dickens, Jane Austen, the Brontes etc.
Here's a link
BeBook
There is a newer version of the BeBook available now.
Sony also produce one and there is another one on the market whose name I can't remember.
I chose the BeBook 2 years ago because at the time it was the best one on the market and 'read' more formats.
There was a time when you had to download eBooks and they were fortune totally unjustified in my belief as no printing costs etc. Nowadays there are loads on eBay.
some I suspect are not entirely legal...
It's very simple - use the BeBook or Reader just like a memory stick and drag and drop your files on to it.
I take 15 books when I go to Sri Lanka every summer. It works as we take relatively empty suitcases and then as I have read the books I recycle them.
I wouldn't fancy reading the electronic book around the pool area, but I swear I love mine. It goes everywhere with me. Got a cheap charger for it, again from eBay so I don't have to rely on a computer to charge it up.
If you buy one - do your homework on them, eg the Sony one only 'reads' Sony's own ebook format and boy do they charge for it!
Any other questions just ask

I am amazed you have not got Ian Rankin on the list. He is in the top echelons of UK crime writers. I particularly enjoy his Inspecter Rebus character.
Yep, definitely!
I would also add
Reginald Hill - Dalziel & Pascoe (much, much better than the tv series)
Michael Dibdin
Andrea Camilleri
George Pelecanos

Thanks mantrachant. I had only found the Sony versions. So this company make 3, the mini the one and the Neo. (Shades of 'Matrix')
And I am still confused. but I agree with you they do support more formats. Think I need to go shopping to see one in the flesh, so to speak.
Agree BeBook Looks like better option at moment.
And they have 20,000 Free classic titles for you to down load from their own site.
Thanks for help.
Lorraine

My pleasure.
I have the Beebook one and it's excellent.
The Sony have some poor write ups if you look on Amazon mainly due to the screen resolution.I can vouch that the BeBook one screen is excellent.
If you decide to buy one let me know and I'll give you a little tip on where to purchase your eBooks.
Cheers,
