We went to South Cliff holiday park in Bridlington and it was a lovely site.
Everything went really well. It took us ages to erect the tent and get everything together!! It was very hard work with the little ones.
The weather held out for us until 10 minutes before we needed to put the tent away and then it chucked it down!! The tent got slung in the car as it was and we managed to dry it out when we got home.
I must say - I was expecting everyone to be much more friendly than they were. No-one really spoke to each other!
All in all though an ok experience, will be doing it again xx

Nice o hear you had a good time, what tent have you got? As for folks not speaking sometimes they need to be spoken to first! good place to start is the dish washing sinks cause you can start chatting without actually looking some one in the eye

Floggitt - we have got a Vango Tigris 800, which was fab. Its huge!! and yes the dish washing room was quite a pleasant area but I just got 'responded' to - no one seemed to want conversation that weekend :( but us Yorkshire folk can be strange when we want to be!!!!!
Sarah - we are going to Monkon Wyld. Have you been???

Nothing stranger than folk, I have found that it depends on the sites how friendly people are or not. SOme sites seem to attract more friendly people then other sites. Not sure why this is.
Don't be put off my unfriendly folk. I found that when I'm amongst mostly caravanners I could spend the whole week only talking with my kids - they are not as friendly as tenters.
If you go to an all tent campsite it's often more a case of 'pitching in' and helping each other out.
One tip I have is to deliberatly forget the beer bottle opener or corkscrew, then you have to borrow one. It takes very little to break the ice with another camper.
I've not been to Monkton Wyld, but we have been to the Charmouth area and its lovely. I'm sure you will have a great time, just keep chatting to people, with some of us, the problem is getting us to shut up !!

Yes nearly the same as the Gelert Horizon8 I think the Vango is better quality I like the bit above the side door that stops the rain running in, this was a big problem for us with the horizon.
If you can get them to talk to you, get them to talk about you, just be an outrageous flirt like that "Frome" is only kidding, frome. (bet she tells me off now)

Glad you had a good time , but don't wait for people to start talking to you ......you start talking to them, and like has already been mentioned by "frome" try and ask for a bottle opener or something and take it from there.......but remember some people are just shy !
