Hello, I'm here to pick your brains again (yes, again!).
We've just put up our tent in the garden to air it out and its manky. What is the best way to clean it inside and out? There are quite a few big dirty marks on it from putting it down in bad weather and it smells really musty. We used it over last bank holiday weekend, but this is the first chance we've had to get it out again.
I was considering whacking the bedroom pod in the washing machine on a cool gentle wash... do you think this would damage it? I was thinking the polycotton would be OK, but was concerned about the groundsheet bit. The pod also has a small patch of mildew on the side which I was going to clean with very diluted bleach - again, is this OK to do?
Obviously I can just use household cleaners on the ground sheet of the tent - I'll sweep it out and give it a good mop with Flash, but what about the actual fabric of the tent? I won;t be going anywhere to buy any specialist cleaner for a while, and was wondering if you thought washing powder in water would do the job? Or if you can recommend anything else which I can get from the supermarket?
Any cleaning advice much appreciated!!!
Thank you muchly, Dawn x
------------- You
