hi can anyone tell me if you get splattered on the outside of tent what is best leave it or cleaning it off. I scrapped worst of it off but was worried about cleaning it incase it effects waterproofing. any advice would be very welcome

Bird poo is slightly acidic so I think there is a potential to damage the proofing. After many half arsed attempts at cleaning my tent with just warm water and a soft sponge I now use this stuff in the water http://www.simplyhike.co.uk/products/Nikwax/TechWash.aspx

Non detergent based cleaner for tent or tent like fabrics. My tent is almost as clean as it was new now.

Next perhaps a shotgun to assist with future "bird poo prevention" and free dinner.
