Hi everyone!
We have a vango Columbia 600 tent, and I'd really like a canopy, as although there is loads of space in the tent, I like the idea of cooking under the canopy. HOWEVER... anytime one comes up on ebay, I seem to miss it (my tent is Smoke in colour). The wide canopy is no longer available.
I've just found out that the sungari 600 canopy fits our tent, BUT it is only available in sage at the moment. As we're off camping in 3.5 weeks (and counting) I need to make a decision as to whether to go for a canopy that does not match in colour, or go for something entirely different all together.... what are your thoughts on this please? (Canopy is £80, so if there are any cheaper alternatives, I'm all ears, oh and one more thing, if our tent is already 445cm x 590cm will we be allowed canopy/cooking cover on our pitch too????)
Thanks in advance

There was a thread about a week or so ago saying that a supplier still had some wide canopies available with a telephone number, may be worth a hunt.
I don't know what the sage and smoke will look like together but it may be worth having a closer look in person...
We haven't bothered with a canopy - as we cook inside if the weather is too bad to cook outside and use the Vango Adventure Tarp on the front of the tent for shelter. You could do the same and combine with a windbreak (possibly the Khyam/ Gelert canopied windbreak) to cook under. If you want to keep the stove outside a full canopy may be better.
I don't know what the dimensions are of the blue version of Outwell's Montana and whether that could be made to fit. The Columbia is a wide tent, so unfortunately many canopies don't fit.
Another option is a separate utility tent.

Hi Karla
Unfortunately it doesn't fit the columbia 600, as our tent is 445cm wide! But thanks a million for the offer
Have a fab time in Cornwall! (And hope someone else reads this thread that has a tent to fit your canopy!)
Thanks for letting me know,Goodluck with getting 1 they make a real differance and no extra site fee's to pay as they attatch to the tent.
Will asvertise canopy on forum when we get back. I'm on a mad spring clean through house as DD has baby in approx 2 weeks and she's still at home so were making room for all the clutter a baby needs.

I never had to worry too much about pitch size with our old tent but now I have to look out for sites that limit the pitch or charge for two pitches over a certain size.
You often see sights limiting to 6m long x xxm wide or 6m x 6m.
Some don't state a size limit but charge extra for canopys and gazebos. Best to ring & ask though if it does'nt say so on the website or booking forms.
