Anyone else noticed any massive differences between what the BBC think is going on this weekend and what Metcheck say???? Been looking at Pickering (*going to Spiers House) and BBC say 24 degrees and Metcheck say 12!!!

Obviously, I'm hoping the BBC are right!!!!

We check lots of weather sites and they all differ. We usually find the best forecast and hope....

To be honest I don't find metcheck to be that accurate, but at the same time Ive seen 3 different forecasts for our area too & I tend to only use metcheck for long range forecasts so likely to be less accurate for me. Weather commerce give us rain tomorrow, fine sat, Metcheck give us fine tomorrow, rain sat & bbc give us fine for entire weekend. You'd think that they would be singing from the same sheet this close to the weekend. I think I'll go with BBC

metcheck has turned to poop this year, and they used to be so good, even if their 10 day forecast was inaccurate, they still used to change it everyday and go with a rough guess at what they though might happen.

now their forecast after a few days all looks the same, identical infact, it's like they can't be bothered, or have lost have thier staff. i mean what's the point in advertising 10 day forcast if your not actually going to do any forecasting.

Uk weather (weather channel) has a 10 day forcast but only state half of it and put the rest up as the yearly average, atleast they show people that they don't actually know what the weather will bring.

hi all i am looking at metcheck now for 3rd june onward for n.e.& s.e.england,but find it better to ask the locals on here nearer the time.they have the local forcast.

I think the 3-5 day forecast is good, but the next 7 days after is just made up.

If i look for my home area (sa44) it says sat 29th may 8 degs feels like 6 degs

Then click next 7 days and it says for sat 29th may (same day) 4 degs feels like -2

I looked on Metcheck for next weekend a few days ago and it said it was going to be early 20's and sunny but cloudy, looked again on Thursday and its completely changed. Oh well we will see what happens. Cant do much about it anyway, but like Eliza has said, its what to pack!

Today metcheck said 7 in my area when it was actually closer to 25. Im pleased other people find it rubbish as well as i was starting to get worried about out week away as it said it was going to be 8.

I have found metcheck really unreliable this year but last year I was recommending it to everyone. May'be because last year it was just rain, rain and more rain.

i think i've just been converted!

i just had a look at AccuWeather.com and on temperatures alone it seems more realistic than Metcheck for the Half term week. and it pin-points you to the exact postcode - no more rough area outlooks!

well, i can live in hope i suppose

I find that metcheck is totally unreliable too.
looking back at floggits post on the 22nd , I am in the sa postcode area too, and compared it for my postcode that day .
the forecast was very similar temps as floggits for my area sa1 .

how wrong they were! we have had very hot sunshine all day again, as we have had since thursday , its sweltering here, still too hot to go to bed . I'm sat here with the windows wide open . Hubby has only come in from the garden about an hour ago.
its giving 9 feels like 7 for tomorrow afternoon for my area .
