like most other we take food frozen that as been part of a bigger batch cook, i buy bacon and eggs locally, along with cakes and other treats, esp if there's a local bakers on the way, i just make sure that i have a few extra seal ziplock type bags to keep the fresh stuff in.
ive found if you use wet t towels and some frozen meals the cool box will stay cold enough for at least 3 days,
well frozen casseroles can still need a little defrosting on the last evening
we use frozen milk and juice too, they all act as ice blocks and the wet t towels placed over the cool box and located in the shade (and a breeze) seems to work better than my fridge at home
hope this helps
