Ahh you see, I don't really get this, would it not have been quicker and less aggro to just ring them yourself? Why was it "his" job?

We're pretty good at splitting tasks but having said that hubby is the stay at home part of our partnership and I work 10 hour days so he sorts most things although we do a joint unpack/repack at the start and end of the season.

OH gets the gear out of the loft (after much nagging), and then I take it from there - checking and repacking equipment, packing clothes/bedding etc, making list after list after list - doing food shopping, preparing tea for 1st night in advance - making sure cool box bottle are frozen blah blah blah.

Usually OH would then pack the car BUT as we now tend to go straight after school on a Friday, picking OH up from work on the way, this is now down to me too.

OH doesn't drive and has no sense of direction - so route planning and driving - ME

OH has no grasp yet of how the tent goes up so I bark orders at him and eventually we get it up together

Then I set up inside while he gets the kettle on

He had it very easy our first weekend away this season - went to a local site with friends - OH was at work til 8pm on the Fri so we set up then friend went to collect OH from work.  Then on Sunday morning I drove OH back to work, then went back to site to pack up.  I was pooped that weekend - so even though I think he's not doing much when he's there, it did seem a lot easier with the 2 of us.

Me....I'm doing it right now (well obviously not 'right' now when am, in fact, having a tea break)

I've got so much to do before tomorrow morning. I've got the list sorted but I've still got so much to do I don't know where to start. I've got the clothes ironed and packed. I haven't gathered my camping gear but it's all in convenient places and I've got a list. Some of it's already in the car from the last time anyway.

I'm knackered. Was going to have a shower. It's too late now I'll do that in the morning, along with all the other 101 things I have to do before 9am tomorrow. The house is a mess. I need to vacuum, I have wet clothes needing dried. My dog is emptying the bin and eating all the lettuce my kids wouldn't eat earlier on, she's sneaking out with one mouthful at a time to her bed giving me those 'you don't see me' glances. I don't care.....
