BTW - you can't withdraw if someone has bid.

I think you will find that you can (check out the ending an auction early section of Ebay help) - its not the greatest thing to be doing obviously cancelling bids & withdrawing your auction but it can be done.  I sell everything regardless of value at 99p with no reserve and its with great experience of this I have the confidence to do so.  As I say not everyone would take that risk but this is what I would do.

I go with majority in storing it if possible but if decision is to sell have you considered Preloved or here in Free Ads.

If you did want to sell you could try on here, it's where I got my tent from. Also seen freeads online that may be better than ebay.

I'm going the other way, I'd flog it on and start again when you come back. The tent may not be suitable and kit generally will be different.

I've moved a few times and ended up with stuff in storages and invariably I forget what I've got, end up replacing items and discovering that things are no good.

I'd stick it up on here in the free ads, try your local free ads/gumtree/preloved for a couple of weeks then bit the bullet and list on ebay.

How about selling the tent only? Things like sleeping bags don't fetch much, but they don't exactly date or wear out. You might even want to take a few selected items with you.

Hi

Just in case its a possibility - I know folks in the same situation as you.  Let their house for number of years - they put a lock on their attic hatch, put their things they didn't want to take and took insurance out (I think) based on circumstances of others not having access etc - just another option to you bothering mum, making secure etc.

Get shot of the lot!

My in-laws have been out in AD for a number of years now and we are looking to get out too. It really is a fantastic place and such a lovely place to bring young kids up. We have three year old twins and they absolutely adore AD.

You can always buy camping stuff when you come back but to be honest I bet you end up staying out there for a while.

Good luck with the move and have fun out there, we'll be out there soon too hopefully!

Thank you all for your thoughts. After much consideration, and multiple changes of minds, I've listed the tent, footprint, carpet and canopy as a job lot on the free ads here and I'll see what happens....
