I never thought I'd love camping, (hubbie used to camp as a child with cubs etc) but I do - the children think it's fantastic and we're having some great times as a family. We bought a new tent this year, going again tomorrow for a couple of nights. Hope you have loads of great holidays!
By the way the advice i've picked up on here has been invaluable.

Oh happy days!
I remeber getting our first tent 12 years ago.
My 10 year old son bought a little 2 man tent from pounstretcher out of his pocket money, cost a tenner, hoping we would let him camp in the garden.
we said no way, so hubby took him and his friend to a local site for one night. they only had a couple of duvets and a torch. They stayed a second night.
they had a great time.
when they got back , we went straight to the nearest camping shop and came out with a 6 berth canvas frame tent, airbeds and sleeping bags .
we went to the same site for a weekend, and ended up staying a fortnight.

Have a great time, you've done the right thing and will be able to look forward to some fantastic holidays in the future.
Never regret - just look forward.

Welcome to the forum Kirk71. Both myself and my wife love the camping life. Yeah, we still do other things (Disney Paris this year) but camping is sooo relaxing, fun and when you get all the gear you want it does work out as a fairly cheap time away.
I'd get the roofbox first, and then as you grow look into investing in a towbar and trailer.
Have fun and please ask for help, ideas, tips etc for anything on here.
