My sister has the 400 and she used it for the first time last year. After only two weeks the coating/surface of the groundsheet was peeling off all over the place.
They didn't seem bothered by it but I would not expect it to look like that after two weeks.
Although it looked very unsightly ( because the top layer was opposite colour to underneath-sorry can't remember which but think top layer light grey and underneath black? or vice versa! ) there were no holes or rips in it.
The groundsheet just seemed poor quality compared to the rest of the tent which stood up to the weather well.
Can you email Vango and see what they say? Sounds like there may be a problem with it - faulty batch perhaps.
