Hi, help please!!

I am on the very large side, my hubby on the large side, I am looking for an airbed that is raised as I hurt my knee a few months ago, and wonder if anyone has any advice about them for the larger lady.

many thanks

We have tried the double height airbeds without much success, so what we do is have campbeds with the box style airbeds on top, they are just so comfy it's unbelieveable, and warmer cos they are off the ground, plus you have the added bonus of storage space underneath!

Hello Julie, I am on the larger size (well have lost almost 3 stone this year but still fairly cuddly!) and last year we bought coleman raised quickbed kingsize and it is huge! The entire space is bigger than the volume space of our kingsize mattress on our normal bed.  We bought a little battery pump and it pumps and deflates in just a couple of minutes.  It rolls and packs away really snug with the built in wrap that comes attached, it is a little heavy but then the entire airbed is thick quality.  I think we paid about £50 for it from Tony Wilds shop newar Worburn, North Bucks (10 mins from Milton Keynes).    It you pump it nice n firm for good back support, you can sit on the edge and put your legs over and it will help you get up in like a sitting position so could be ideal for you with poorly knee.

My only advise is to get some good insulation to put underneath as in the colder weather, the cold air is trapped in the air zone and can make it pretty cold (ok, this was very early May last year and I froze!).  We bought a couple of foil blanket picnic blankets, put one underneath, the other on top (before the 2 quilts!) and then it protects the cold air from reaching your bo**om! lol.  I would also "air" the top of your bed each day to keep the condensation away.  Overall we are really pleased with ours and plan taking it to in laws to use in their flat!

Good luck, let me know if you have any questions and hope the knee gets better soon.

I am around the *ahem* stone mark, and have bought an Outwell Vacanza Excellent airbed.  And it really is!  It lasts the night under my considerable bulk with no air leaking and it sits around a foot off the floor so a lot easier to get on and off.  I can highly recommend it!  So much so that I have the single one and I went out and bought a double for the kids as I liked it so much.

Dawn x
