Had a guy come to look at my Khyam tourer late afternoon yesterday. Set it up in the garden to show condition and how it all works.
That done he walks all round the tent, pull here and a tug there, checks zips on both doors. Goes inside sits down on the floor and then proceeds into the sleeping compartment, Lays down, turns around and lays in the opposite direction, gets up checks zips on the sleeping bit, comes out and goes around the outside again. (No talking took place while the examination was in progress)
Then he spoke..... Would i take £40 for it, the advert that i put in my local shop said £80. I didn't let him have tent. Lol
After reading some of the threads here it seems alot of you guys more experienced than me. At £80 I'm i asking to much for my tent, For the sake of £40 I'm thinking it might be better just to keep it and have 2 tents.
------------- Just about there, But not quite over the hill.
Please don't let it go for £40, I would happily give you £50 for it, (would give more but money's tight). Besides, Khyams are very good tents, my brother had a one-touch 2 man Khyam, it lasted for years, was still going strong when it went with my van that got towed by the council!
Forty quid for all that?! He was taking the pfizz! It's a great tent, and I'd give you double, if I needed one right now! Sadly I'm well-supplied.
My son has a Khyam, and it's a superb tent!
I also don't like the way the guy treated you. Very arrogant. If he'd offered me seventy-nine, I think I would have turned him down, just to be cussed!
I was considering a tourer 200 (had one years ago) and followed oed on Ebay (in Gosport) however decided to buy Khyam Freelander. Just looked again on Ebay and Tourer had 2 bids £80 bids now probably closed.
Seeing your pics, and having used one of these tents, I would think it well worth £80. There were 2 new ones on Ebay asking over £189. hang onto it and advertise it nearer school hols perhaps?

If he new the asking price and he couldn't find fault with it I don't see how he could justify half your price. He could have asked that on the phone and saved you both some time.
Well I've got to admit a well known TV character called Arthur did come to mind. its stored in a nice dry room and it is advertised in a few places, If it finds a new home that will be nice, if not I'm sure it will be useful at some stage.
Must remember to have the camcorder handy for possible recurrence.
Looking forward to Wednesday when we pick up our new Kampa Saunton 5, never used this type of tent before so it should be fun setting it up.

Folk making daft offers is all part of selling stuff,
which is 90% 'time wasters'. A nylon tent does have a
short life compared with a canvas one tho, if the
tent is a few yrs old it ain't worth that much. If its
fairly new your best bet is an ebay listing, your
customer base is limited if you just avertise in yer
local shop.
