It's light and dark blue with white guys and has a SIG. I think we bought in 2006 - how time flies! It's to sleep 5 but the max would be 4 I would say and that would be tight. The bedroom has an attachable partition to make 2 bedrooms but we use it as just one. There is enough space for the 2 of us and I think it would be fine for a solo trip with your dog but you could have lots of room which you may find you do not necessarily need.
Depends on how much room your dog takes up, I guess. We don't have a dog now but years ago I used to have a german shepherd and she would have taken over the whole tent given half the chance!
I love your Username! Howerver being campers, aren't you more Tom and Barbara
By the way, we have a built-on porch on our tent which has a door and we've had food stolen by dogs in the past.
Our friends gave us the name on our first camping trip. A large group of us went and when we arrived at the site they all had 1 or 2 man pop up tents. When we put our's up it looked like a mansion compared to their's! So at that point we were Margo & Jerry in a Tom & Barbara world. However, when we camp on our own we're more like Tom & Jerry!

Sorry to Hijack the thread, but I am looking for some sort of extension for our Outwell Hartford XXL. Unfortunately it is not the latest model which has an extesion available. Do you think the about extension will fit on to our? I suppose I should find the dimensions!
I've got the easy camp cozenza 600 (see pics) and it is very similar to the Hartford tents, I am buying the Vango premium canopy, as Frome suggested to me a few weeks back, i've had a really good look at all the porch pics and dimensions on the tent reviews, and i think it will fit, it should be ok for your Hartford.
I must order mine soon before they all sell out.
Well I have the vango orchy extension the one with the door for my orchy 600,The rrp for the extension is £70 but you can get it between 50 - 60 quid if you look around on the tinternet. We leave everything in the extension like two tables two chairs and plastic stowage boxes with the food in them anyway hope this helps.
We too have a Vango Fireblazer 500 and we want to get a porch/canopy for it. Just wondering if you have got your extension yet Margo and how it fits to your tent. You may have the same problem as us, in that none of the canopies say they will fit the Fireblazer! It doesnt even get mentioned! Anyway, thats why I wonder if you have got yours and how it fits the fireblazer. Is it any good!
We debated between the extension which zips up or the canopy which is open. We settled for canopy because what we wanted was open covered space with fresh air. and shelter from the sun or rain There is only 2 of us so the covered space we have is ample. We leave our cooker on its stand and our table and chairs out there. We put the cadac chef away.
we used to leave it all, behind the windbreak when we went out, but now i have a kitchen tent and leave it all in there...i didnt like cooking under the umbrella
but the kitchen tent has proved usefull, on colder windy days the OH sits in it...ive had to throw him out to cook...
Thanks you everyone for your replies. All of them have been very useful for me.
gone for a p (love your username, by the way). We haven't bought the premier extension as yet as I had an accident and have been on crutches for the last 5 weeks but hope to be getting one soon and I will let you know how it fits. From reading Frome's valuable advise I feel confident it will be fine.
Urgh! I'm so impatient! Once I get it I will want to try it out there and then in the garden, hence why I do not have one yet.
Okay, thanks Sarah. I will also let you know how it fits our tent as and when we get it. We are going away in a few weeks so would like to have ours by then, hopefully anyway, I'm impatient too!
I hope your leg gets better soon so you can get down that camping shop and get your canopy!
Thank you Margo for a very important bit of information I didnt know. As I said earlier we have the Vango Fireblazer. Weve had the tent for a few years now and we never knew it was the Vango Venture until just reading your reply! So thank you very much for that! After all these years we are in the know! And very handy that bit of information is too coz everytime we look the fireblazer up on the internet for information or accecories nothing ever much comes up! Oh thank God.
We dont worry too much about putting things in the tent before we walk off. If we have a table outside or something we leave it there although obviously we zip the tent up. Its quite surprising how trustworthy people are on campsites actually. We always, always take our mobile phones and wallet/purse and car keys out of the tent if we leave it though. We tend to leave things like the camera or other valuables in the car anyway so that there is nothing left to chance when we leave the tent. (Just get the camera or Nintendo DS out of the car as and when you want it and put it back when you have finished with it).Weve been camping for a few years now and we seem to have been alright until now with the way we do it.
If it's possible to leave kit in the porch/extension the do it, the stove will be fine if you give it a good wipe (I usually give mine a wipe with some wd40 just in case) before you put it away.
Table & chairs - if they get wet/damp give them a wipe too, basically anything that is waterproof or can stand the moisture then leave it out.
P.S. tried leaving the kids in the porch but unfortunately they kept letting themselves back in.
