Steve - I know which site you are talking about near Diss, i have looked at it too (we are about 10 miles from there), let me know if you go and what its like or we may see u there, I think that may be our next trip in July sometime, its either there or Dower House I know neither are far from home but its nice just to get away from the home life sometimes, and I really fancy the cheapish horse riding although i am not sure I will be able to walk again afterwards, its been a long time!
I live in North Wales and it's an AMAZING place to live as well as camp! The weather here is fantastic ( well it has been lately....just like the rest of UK!) Coastal is our preference as we live 5 mins from the beach but Betws-y-Coed and Snowdonia have some beautiful sights and camping sites! We're off to Cornwall for first time in summer hols with the children so will see how they compare!
------------- It always rains on tents. Rainstorms will travel thousands of miles, against prevailing winds for the opportunity to rain on a tent.
I have to agree the Gower is stunning it is just 40 minutes drive for me so I dont camp there but is great dog walking in the low season when its quiet. Beautiful.
I think there are very few places where you get great beaches AND lovely hills side by side, and most of them are on the east coast where it's damn cold.
I live in the south downs, and our countryside is wonderful but the beaches are rubbish.

We try to mix it up a bit, I don't know if it is just because we live on the North Norfolk Coast but we aren't too concerned if we have abeach to go to or not. Our next trip (probably only 3-4days) is in Thetford forest as my 10yr old daughter wamts to "camp in the woods".
I can recommend Graffham in West Sussex for woodland camping, it's a lovely site. There's lots to do and see round there too, and lovely walks.
Someone suggested a site in West Wales a while ago & even posted a link to it. I looked at the site & even saved it somewhere on my PC. Needless to say, I can't find it!! It's right on the beach & looks lovely too.
We like the flexibility of camping and being able to enjoy different areas of the country, since we started camping last year we have been to Derbyshire, East Yorkshire, Cornwall, Cambridgeshire and Lincolnshire and hope to go to Dorset in the summer holidays. This includes various sites from working farms to Haven sites and not forgetting the steam rally wich we are attending again this weekend. We are also booked into the Pillaton UKCS meet in September.
