I used to have an injection about 8 years ago called kenalog and was totally hayfever free for a a number of years and it was bliss. Then i changed doctors and he was shocked that i had been on it for so long, so he stopped the injection. But have found as i have posted earlier piriton, beconese and eye drops and i am back to normal (or as normal as possible lol)

My rotten git of a GP refused to let me have the jab. The practice policy is that they don't do it: they regard hay fever as minor and short-lived (they obviously don't suffer themselves, and I have a dust allergy so suffer all year round!) and don't believe the benefits outweigh the risks (impaired immunity, altered adrenal fucntion and all sorts of other stuff).  

Then he added that it's very expensive....

Beclametasone nasal spray (Beconase is the trade name but get a generic one and it's cheaper but exactly the same drug), and Sodium Chromoglycate eye drops (again, that's the generic name)

Use these all through the season even when symptom free and never, never, never rub your eyes. The only time I rub my eyes during the hayfever season is when I take my make-up off and then I only rub them very gently and only after I've put some precautionary eye drops in
