My OH was in a forest site "all on his own" (I had to work and went down the next day) and he got wakened by noise in awning.  Turned on light and 2 squirrels were fighting on poles.  He is not easily scared but says he will never do it again as frightened the life out of him at 3am.

That will teach him to try and get an extra night away without me. lol

Went fishing for a few days and had a rat on the table during the night, right next to my head, raiding my brekkie Hob Nobs a while ago!

So glad we have never encountered mice, the whole campsite would know something up when I scream if we ever do (hopefully never) just don't like them. I know they would probably more scared of us than us of them though.

I've got friends who take their cat camping with them, they're in a camper van not a tent though. Still, I bet they never have trouble with mice!
