Good grief! Carbon footprint nightmare, to say nothing of the feelings of his fellow campers! Now I've heard everything.
I think that last comment you made was generous to him, alfamonkey!
FoO
i suppose we all have our reasons for getting away for a break and many choose camping because they think its the cheapest option, and oh how ignorent youd have to be to think that!
but that said yes it boils down to where you want to camp.
seriously electric hook ups may be worth avoiding in the future.
we are away on the 24th for 7 nights, and hunting around for a site at mo.

2am madness
so glad to see that my camping standards are aired my many of you too. Why do parents let their kids run riot as soon as they arrive, then have a blazing row, burn the sausages and burgers, forget to put tied kids to bed and then stay up till the small hours drinking noisily with their friends. My biggest hate is the fa cup football match played outside my tent till late and again very early in the morning. We have four boys camping with us at times so we understand the need to let off steam but in a controlled way. If people are not careful, all the good campsites will become adult only.
Agree with other responder, always fart down wind and don't giggle about it for hours as teenage boys don't find it cool!!

So many moans - isn't camping wonderful!
Of course it is!
Except when the Family From Hell pitches next to you for a fortnight!
A thread called 'Camping Etiquette' is bound to invite the horror stories from When Camping Goes Bad - and after forty years, some of us are bound to have some of those! But most of us know those experiences are rare, and the good times far outweigh the bad.
I moan about my kids, but I wouldn't want to ditch them, either!
