I think it would be rude to tell some one that their tent it crap. We bought a cheap Halfords number at the start of last year, we had neer been camping before. We were fully aware that it wasn't the best quality tent, and if someone on site had come across and told me that I would of agreed with them. However, it served its purpose, we got a pleasant season out of it (& it has actually now been passed on to another new camper), and we have now bought a better tent. Just because someone has a crap tent, don't assume they dont already know this themselves.
well they spent ages making a groundsheet to fit the inner
then the heavens opened (and it was like a monsoon) and the sodding thing leaked it poured through the seams offered them the use of our awning (with awning tent ) but no they went home (cant say as i blame them)
they went out then and bought a good tent off hand i think it was a monty but dont quote me
the next 2 times they put it up AND took it down it has rained said friends hubby will now NEVER camp again shame as friend would
Mum and dad bought the halfords pack last year for them and my sis and her other half. They came with us to Bala and it was a pretty bad weekend weather wise. The halfords tent was rubbish, nowhere to hide from the rain ,thin material and no protection from the wind.It would have been ok if it was just for the weekend but I think my mum was hoping for a few weekends away. There is no chance of that now as my dad has been put off for life.It is a dilemma for everyone as I wanted to advise them to get a better tent when they told me they were getting it, but dad might still have hated camping and they would have wasted even moremoney.N.B my Magnum XL was all the things the halfords tent was not, cost us a few quid when we first bought it but still going strong after 5 years and loads of use.
------------- What is this life if,full of care,we have no time to stand and stare
