I'm very pleased with myself - I've just spent the afternoon sorting carpets lol!!

I bought 2 really cheap Outwell Utah 6 carpets from Ebaya couple of weeks ago and have cut them up to fit a couple of tents. I've made a living area carpet and 2 bedroom pod carpets for the Cabanon Aruba and also the same for my new Atlantic. There was even enough left over for the Cabanon Calvi too so am very happy with that. Fully fitted carpets throughout 3 of the tents for £30 - can't be bad!! And there's a 150cm square left over that I'll use as a picnic mat and they match the tents too!

I had planned on binding the edges but the Outwell carpets seem to be bonded onto the waterproof backing so at the minute I haven't bothered - they don't look as if they'll fray.

I have also made 3 fabric bags for the Aruba extra bits & pieces - one has the living room carpet, one the 2 bedroom pods and the other has the 2 bedroom carpets, groundsheet and curtains. How organised is that!!

Very pleased with myself!

Drat!
That makes my 5 GBP plastic backed hessian 9 X 12 ft cover look positively cheap.

I saw it in the local Sunday Market, and thought "I could use it as a protective cover for the SIG in my new Outwell Virginia 5 tent"

At some 50 GBP for a matching Outwell carpet it seems reasonable?

OK, so the colour co-ordination is er, umm, interesting, but what the heck! LOL

Ann, you're too good for me to compete with.

Seriously though, if we can provide more comfort at a reasonable cost, then why not.

Kind regards James

In the beginning there was darkness.
Then I bought a tent.
I'm not destitute, I'm just poor.

Anne, thanks for posting this, you've given me an idea. I have a SV8 carpet but it's a bit short width ways for the Athena, I might try and get a small one in the same colour and add a strip on. it'll have to wait till we come back from France though lol. The bedroom carpet seems a good idea too as I normally chuck in a picnic rug under the airbed.

The Outwell carpets are better than any of the other brands imo, I do have a Vango one I got as part of a package when I bought the canopy for use in my Nevada. It's just not as well made. I hovered my Outwell one today with my Cat & Dog hoover, a powerful beast, which I reckon would have ruined most other makes. Anyway it looks all nice now for the trip.

Where did you get the cheap carpets from ?

edit - just reread your post - ebay is the answer lol

Coordinating? Is that compulsary? Oh boy I am doomed !

Beige and green tent, blue crockey, red and black chairs, green cooker,...

At least the tent carpets match (that is where I must have coordination lol

So if I burn a flaming hole in my tent you're the one to fix it?

Who's a clever thing?
