I've seen a nice site I would like to visit (Beadnell Bay) but can't figure out the pricing structure. Theres a price for 'adult' and also a price for 'non member fee, per pitch per night'. Will I have to pay both of these fees?
Unless you're a member of the Camping and Caravanning Club - yes you will. You'll pay the site fee plus additional for the members of your party. If you're going for several nights, it may be cheaper to join, which I believe you can on the site.
Thanks thats what I suspected. I might consider joining, will see how long we are intending to go for first.
Oh and in answer to your signature- yes i have hugged a greyhound today lol, in fact Ive got one currently trying to nudge me off the sofa as we speak.
Only trying? That's one puny hound you must have!!. When one of ours wants the sofa you don't argue. Just have to give in gracefully to a life of sitting on the floor.
Nope, I have victory, the sofa is now mine and she is on the floor. I think she got a crick in her neck because she couldn't have the full stretch lol.
Hi. Hope you don't mind us butting in on this, but Man got the hump and went off to the shop before it closed so we had a look. We don't know if we are allowed to join in, but we feel it's only fair we have our say. Much as we like to humour our Man, the sofa really is OURS, and the sooner he learns that the better.
However, we have noticed that quite a few of you campers are owned by greyhounds. Perhaps we should all meet up sometime - and invite the Humans as well, of course.
I'm owned by 2 greyhounds and one of them definitely believes that I bought the sofa for her. And the beds. And the armchair. She doesn't mind where she sleeps, as long as it's off the ground.
Yes they don't like being on the floor at all. When we go camping, she has n ochoice but sleep on her bed on the floor. I think she is always pleased to be back home and comfy on the sofa.
Sorry to hijack the greyhound thread lol, but if we went with friends (in other tents)to a cc&c site, do we all have to be members or can you get away with just one family being members.
No unfortunately you can't, one person per tent minimum must be a member, but if you really want to stay there you can join on site, it really depends on how frequently you want to use C&CC sites, which are normally pretty expensive anyway!

I used to belong to the Ccc until a couple of years ago, when I thought I had finished camping. lol. It must be in the blood or something cos here I am back.
Being a lone camper I always found it cheaper than some sites which charge per tent/pitch. I once went to a commercial site with my son and his wife plus 3 children. They paid exactly the same for all of them as I did for just me and my little tent!
So, for one person, perhaps it is not too expensive.
Another owned by a greyhound person here, although since I bought the dog a lovely fur lined bed, I have the sofa all to myself!
Anyway, back on topic, we stayed at a c&cc this year, and only one person out of our 2 tent party was a C &CC member, TBH, they didn't check or anything, just took my word that I was a member!
The Beadnell Bay C&CC site is nice but quite windy - you're literally across the road from the beach. We camped on the back field (no hookup).
We really enjoyed it there when we went. Tip: The nicer beach is not across the road from the site, but about a 5 min drive away (but I think you have to pay to park). The pic, below is from the beach across the road from the site. The Alnwick Gardens are also really worth a visit (but not if you're taking the dogs!).
