Well I slept indoors, in a lovely big bed ... and I slept terribly - I always sleep like a log in a tent. Time to set the bad boy up in the garden me thinks ...

From what I have read (If I can find the link again I will post it here) a HH of 1000 is considered waterproof (800 by the MOD)and a HH of 2000 plus is going to take care of most European rain conditions in all seasons.
so as far as that link is concerned 2000 is more than sufficient for anything we will get in these climes.
Thanks for the link i was chatting to a guy about the pamandi and he said the only thing that would worry him would be it being only 2000hh
Now i have camped out in it in the rain i can say my worries on this score have gone. there was also a reported problem with the door looseing rain in on these tents i just pitched a peg in the center of the dorr on the outside and hooked the inside elastic over it to keep the door tight and no problems not a drop of water was let in over night
Great fun! We tried out the Relum Izmir in the garden and ended up spending the whole week sleeping in it! After the first sleepless night where it rained heavily, I was reassured it wouldn't leak and slept brilliantly after that. But I was also surprised at the noises through the night - very different to a campsite!
We garden camped last night. I needed to put the tent up to check it out as I had replaced some split poles. My daughter and I were equally keen to do this. My husband stayed indoors and didn't sleep very well. Tough, should have camped out, it's much more healthy.
We had our Coleman Rock Springs and Vango Adventure Tarp up in my mother's garden a few weeks back when we had to break off from our camping holiday to look after her. Glad we had it with us - gave us a little privacy and added a little fun!!
Funny - but we had the wildlife closer than when we've been camping. We had a fox fight just outside one night! Woke us up with a start!!!!
Good for you! As has been mentioned, the kids will remember you being "daft" (actually that's code for great Dad) for a long long time.
On the previous subject of poorly behaved kids on site. I just got back from St Margarets campsite in Suffolk. There was a mix of all sorts. However, the children (well all but one very noisy little Girl) where all delightful. It was a 2H 50M drive for me. Close enough for you?
