it is interesting to read a few takes on glamping, my own (possibly ill informed) view is that is isnt about spending money and having lots of kit with you, it is a kind of camping philosophy

of romanticising, of scatter cushions and colourful rugs, of Kath Kidson fabrics, of tea lights and bunting, of wood burners and canvas, of ecological concerns

A glamper wouldnt have a 10 berth plastic tent with EHU, more likely a bell tent. A glamper wouldnt have footprints and matching blue checked carpet from Outwell, more likely scatter rugs from Habitat (or Ikea). A glamper would not have hair straighteners, more likely beads and ribbons. A glamper wouldnt have bacom and eggs more likely something veggie and fragrant. A glamper would have nylon guylines and delta pegs, more likely hemp and wood

or am I way off ?

if I am way off, tell what that style is cos I kind of like, but do cringe a bit when I see it for real - not sure why

ooooooooooooh i want to be one of your glampers please eldorado!! i am a very girly girl...we moved from a big town to a cottage in a small village and ive filled it with bunting and fairy lights and made soooooooo many cushions!! i wish i could take it all camping..not got the room though!! i think cushions and candles and throws make everything seem really romantic and homely rather than posh and showy...shame i cant take my log burner in my tent...

THIS is what I consider Glamping - and I think it looks beautiful! Call me romantic (cause I am!), but I would love to set my glamperous bell tent up in the middle of nowhere and surprise my husband (of 23years by the way) with an invitation that only gives a postcode for the sat nav. No children, dog, or anything electric, just the 3way on gas filled with fine food and champagne...ahhh...bliss! Now that's what I call Glamping!

this is what The Sun call glamping, scatter cushions seem to be well in evidence:
glamp

now how casn I combine 70's retro Pyramid tent with this ? We got the exterior butterfly lights (for the kids obviously) and are seeking striped canvas chairs but it doesnt seem quite so cosy/romantic to me

but then was the 70s ever a romantic era ?

You've got it Eldorado.  Not much glamour in your average take the kitchen sink set up!
