but is this really simple and easy when using one of them stoves? thanmks

Tuna muck
Ingredients (per person)
- 1 large onion or 2 small ones,
- 2 cloves of garlic,
- 1 tbs cooking oil,
- 1 tin of tomatoes,
- 1 squirt of tomatoe puree or ketchup,
- 1 tsp sugar,
- an eighth of a tsp each of Chili,
- Cumin,
- Cayenne Pepper,
- Paprika,
- Coriander,
- 1 pepper fresh or frozen any vegetables available fresh or frozen or tinned.
- I often use carrots or peas,
- 2 Eggs,
- some sausages cooked and sliced or any other cooked meat or for vegetarian option omit meat.

Cooking Instructions
Chop onion and garlic and begin to fry in oil. Add tomatoes, tomatoe puree or ketchup and sugar. Now add spices, any you don't have don't use. Keep everything simmering and stir occasionaly. Chop or slice any vegetables you may have chosen to use and add these along with cooked sausage or other cooked meat. Make sure any meat is heated thoroughly. Simmer for 5 to 10 minutes stirring occasionaly. Make 2 dents in mixture and crack the eggs into the dents trying not to break the yolks. Cover with a plate or lid and poach eggs till white is firm.
Serve on plates and eat with bread or jacket potato or whatever you like [rice is good as are chips] | |

Well, I don't think I'd go to the trouble of that one at home, never mind camping!
I go for much simpler options - cereal, no need to cook and to save washing up you can just pour the milk into "individual" size packets, or you can add warm water/milk to "instant" oats without any actual cooking, toast (using a one slice toaster which does the job much better than the circular four-slice one) possibly with already boiled eggs, and/or already heated beans, tomatoes etc.(I'm assuming only one stove is available).
We also have a non-electric sandwich toaster - buttered slices of bread are placed in the two halves with any suitable filling on the (dry) inside of the slices and the clamped-together toaster held over almost any kind of camping stove for a few minutes each side. Circular ones seem to be fairly readily available but are wasteful of the usual oblong slice of bread, but you may have more trouble finding the oblong version - we tried a number of specialist kitchen outlets and camping shops before ours turned up at the back of a cupboard!
Other suggestions - anything you can serve cold or with minimal cooking, corned beef, fried eggs etc., with bought-in chips, if you're camped near a chip shop of course, (frying chips takes ages, uses lots of gas and shouldn't even be considered inside a tent).

Had to check your children's ages to make sure it wasn't my daughter's post. One adult has some food restriction because of being on warfarin; one adults eats no meat, or poultry but will cook it for family; 14yo eats anything except fresh tomato or mushrooms; 13yo eats most foods but hates fresh bananas; 9yo dislikes pasta and If she dislikes look of meal refuses to try it. None of them eat fish.
Last year I camped with them and did some cooking using one burner gas stove. We told children that we needed to eat together and same meal, as we couldn't do separate meals, but then worked out some compromises. Pasta would be augmented with bread and butter for one. If tomatoes or mushrooms were cut larger they could be removed. The banana hater could sit away from banana eaters. For the veggie we had some meals, such as mince dishes, using Quorn or tins of veggie beans and sausages. The other adult removed 'banned' food.
Meal were more or less what they had at home. Pasta can be brought to boil for few minutes then set aside to continue cooking while sauce is made in another pan: fry finely chopped onion and garlic add sliced courgette, sliced mushrooms, tinned tomatoes, tomato paste, garlic paste if no fresh garlic(both optional) pepper and salt to taste, cook until soft then add fresh or dried oregano and basil.
Most favourite meal eaten by all with seconds and repeat requests was 'Grandma's camp stew': chunky sliced fresh carrots and potatoes boiled together until almost cooked, then strain off liquid and add 2 tall tins veggie beans and sausages, tin mushrooms and 1 or 2 tins mince and onions. Mix well together. Didn't need any seasoning. Served with bread to mop up the juices.
Then there are salads which can be served with hot or cold new potatoes and cold meat or cheese, vegetable sticks.
My family have always sat down together for meals but since camping the children have all eaten same meals.
