Hi Atko.
That is a crazy price for Car+Trailer for the Tunnel, we used the NorfolkLine TE04 promo code, for our June/July Dover-Dunkerque return crossing Car+Trailer, total cost £58, without the promo code it would have been £190!, just hope the promo codes keep comming.
Well I have always said I wont get a trailer because its just an excuse to get more stuff. BUT having just done an 8 hr car journey without being able to move my feet because the footwell was full of stuff, I am starting to rethink. And that was after paring everything down to the minimum. To be honest if you are going for a week or more, you need enough stuff with you to be comfortable. Camping is our only holiday and I dont want it to be some kind of endurance test. Add two rapidly growing kids to that and yes I think a trailer is inevitable.
I bought a 3` x 5` trailer with sides about 1` high many years ago and its a god-send, all the gear fits in trailer and boot (its a Vectra elite estate) so plenty of room...so I thought, now increased the height of the sides to 3` and still fill it, and i`m quite careful about what is taken, joy is, on the motorway, hardly aware trailer is there, and to be curtailed by the stupid law in this country to 60 MPH I feel any car could pull a trailer quite safely.
