that's what i love about us campers no mater what the circumstances are get out there and enjoy
------------- canvas for the wind,
a roof for the rain
and tea beside the fire.
Laughter to cheer you,
those you love near you
and all that your heart might desire.
Have a look on the internet for the local Sure Start Children's Centres. I'm sure that like our staff they are all working flat out during the summer with a wide and varied range of activities that are suitable for your family. You should be made very welcome in any Children's Centre you walk into and all of our activities are free or just a nominal charge so it's a really good way of keeping little ones entertained.
rain? - near the beach? - no problem! - In Cornwall last month me and the lads spent a very wet afternoon crabbing in Megavissey harbour while the wife and daughter sat in the pub laughing at us - and you know what? - It was a better experiance with a dad and sons than a sunny day out in Alton Towers ever has been - just get out there and enjoy it! - if it gets really bad find the nearest pub and a couple of activity books
Take the kiddies something *Special* as a surprise (Doesn't have to be expensive). New colouring book, some sparkles, stickers, crayons something they don't normally do/play with at home. How about getting old argos catlogue and some paper and glue and make a collage of things you've seen on the campsite/in the tent/caravan/on the journey down etc. Might help pass some time while you wait for the sun to shine
We had a few showers and kids still played outside, mud pies, football, walks on the beach, paddled in the sea. As long as you can have a nice warm shower and a warm bed it's fine.
