I personally do not believe the Safari Chef HP version can do BBQs.

If you intend to use the Cadac for BBQs, then I would strongly advise you to get one that use LP as in a portable gas bottle with regulators etc...

As for whether it is sufficient for 4 people, it really depends on the type of food that you cook and the quantity required.

Again, personally, the Safari Chef HP is just right for 2 people, more than that and I would need to use another cooker to supplement it.

Hence I am going to get a Coleman F1 stove, most likely to be the one with the highest output and best wind resistance, as it uses the same type of gas canister as the Safari HP, which means I do not need to carry a separate type of gas for it.

We have same sized family with ages the same. We use the Cadac Carri Chef Delux as it has all the requirements you would every need from a camping gas appliance. BBQ goes without saying, Skottle (excellent for breakfasts, and frying), griddle good for meats and dry frying, and pot stand for the kettle!

We tend to use the Cadac for all food prep when camping. Only thing it doesn't do very well is toast, but hey it's only a week for so.

I would say the Cadac Safari is rather small and would probably be a bit of a squeeze to get four decent burgers and 8 sausages on!
