Can't find original post re closing bottom of vango juno/peace door. I've just returned from a one night camp in my vango peace 800, and the side used on the door, comes unstuck during the night. I think this is caused by condensation, grrr,
I know others have used this system, so I am now going to try sticking tenacious tape to the tent cloth first, then stick the velcro to the tenacious tape. Fingers crossed.
Whilst on the subject of condensation, I normally only use cotton tents. I was very surprised how much condensation we got. Two people in an eight man tent, with all top vents open, and all bottom vents open, in August. The tent was running with water inside, and I had to re pitch it today, just to dry out the inside. Any one want to buy a used twice Vango Peace, I doubt it.
------------- Canvas tent, paraffin light, petrol stove. Heaven
I'd rather be kayaking.
Spent up, not pent up, just had my new tent up.

Hi Didgeplayer, Had exactly the same tearing problem with mine, but as it is the only tent of this style in cotton, (not that it really is a cotton tent, it's just a plastic tent with a cotton exterior Grrrrr) I just repaired it. I'm thinking of cutting out most of the sewn in ground sheet, so I can hang it inside out to dry when I get home. Being Vango and cotton, I assumed it would be like a Force Ten cotton, and I also bought it when they first appeared on the market. I bought it over the tinternet, and can't remember who from Val. It was the first time my wife had seen it, and she was really impressed, with how quick and easy it was to pitch, which is why I bought it in the first place. I was thinking about cutting out the five legs, as it's this that causes the fabric to tear. ( as a design fault, If you make a load of holes close together in a sheet of plastic with no fabric to support it, then what you have in fact done is to make perforations to tear along, ) Perhaps I'll have to try and search through my computer files, to see if I can work out where I got it from. I even thought about buying some tent fabric, and sewing one myself. After all, how hard can it be to sew four triangles together, and perhaps use lacing for the door instead of a zip. The Americans call them a Range Tent, (see video on you tube). Grrr Grrr and more Grrr
