Last week our Vango Tigris 800 had a problem with one of the internal support straps. It came away from the side stitching. I've heard of this before in reviews, but now it's happened to us. The place we purchased it from were fine about getting it sent back to Vango, but as I got the tent in June 2009 it's now out of warranty, (after 3 weeks of real use).

Does anyone know a way of repairing these straps, IE stitching it back or a strong glue? Thanks.

I think the TBS is great...I've used it a LOT and I'm convinced it helps considerably when the poles are being put under pressure and twisting in high winds.

If I were you I'd just stitch it. You should be able to reach the area with a sewing machine. Use a strong ballpoint type machine needle and polyester thread, then seam seal.

This also happened to our 2009 Tigris, I stitched it back together, but like you was not too happy that it happened. We had a few faults on our 2009 Tigris, in heavy rain it leaked at some of the window seams, ok this was sorted with some seam sealant, then when we used it in May (this year), the small canopy on the side, came away at the top from the seam, so cant be stitched up. I know this does not affect the main part of the tent, but even so, really dont think it should have split so easy, the canopy pole was always really tight and hard to get it.

At the time we bought the tent, we loved it, loved the layout. But with these faults was not so impressed

Anyway, we replaced it in June with a Montana : )

exactly the same thing happened with ours! although we did have an additional rip along the seam in the SIG - last Vango we will buying
