Well our annual summer camping holiday is nearly upon us. We are of to North Devon,I have just seen the weather forecast and what a surprise rain rain oh and rain. Is any one else camping next week.?
Besides the wine the radio board games and playing cards any suggestions on how to entertain 3 kids?? Ps The wine is for me!!!
we too are off next week to newquay ,have some faith the weather will be fine and you all will all have fun ..thats the way i am thinking off it as the oppersit is beyond imagination ,i cant think about sitting in a tent with a 5 and a 2 yr old boy running round especally as they enjoy the outside way too much to be stuck in a tent......... i think i will chuck them out side with their wellys on and an umbrella ..lol
How old are your kids?
Do you all have waterproofs?
A positive attitude from all really helps, and belief in the fact that you'll have a fab time whatever goes a long way!
We've camped in persistant rain a number of times and the kids just get on with it - they've fished in a stream, swum in the sea, played in the rain!!
Google or do a search of the area find cheap indoor activities so you have contingencies and just in case the forecast is accurate and you need an alternative to the wet! Museums? Cinema? Swim pool? Leisure centre - badminton/squash?
My 8 year old now has a scrapbook for trips - she keeps a 'diary' - drawings, writings, postcards, photos, tree rubbings, leaves etc etc. We have used these activities at times to fill wet times and then she takes her works into school for show and share!!
My kids are 11 and 8 and we have walking boots and full waterproofs and will get out whatever the weather.
Mine read alot, they have beconme addicted to Uno...and as a last resort have their DS`s. It does help we are going with friends with kids the same age.
Thanks for your advice guys,we have a 7 and 12yr old boys and a 15yr old girl. I am hoping the surf will be good as the eldest will be surfing/body boarding. Any way its a holiday weve earnt it so we will make the most of it and explore the North devon coastal paths.
BAH.....were off bank holiday weekend...we will be swathed in union jacks and pointing at the storm clouds and shouting"damn you".............try it.........it doesn't work but hey ho!
