We've just returned from Manor Farm in Cromer, had some terrible weather and wind. Our last night saw loads of tents evacuating and/or being destroyed There were lots of gazebos pitched up there, most of which were destroyed, they look so dangerous though, I was worried one might blow into our tent and rip it!
I have never visited Norfolk before and even after the weather I liked it and want to return!

Jonah,
I've just got back from 5 days in Cromer from Wednesday 18th to Sunday 22nd and despite awful forecasts I've come away with a fantastic tan and the whole family had a great time.
If it is windy there are some sensible steps you can take. If you are not in a pre booked pitch, choose your location carefully. Avoid open spaces and look out for any flags to show you where the wind is blowing. If you need help holding onto your tent as you try and put it up, dont be afraid to ask any neighbours who dont look too busy themselves. Put the tail end of tent into the wind, not your canopy as I saw a few times recently. Make sure your tent and guy lines are all secured well, adding extra guy lines, if you have any, on any sides that might be under strain. If things get really windy a well paced car can act as a good windbreak.
It also pays to prepare a little for rainy days.
My list included going to the cinema in Cromer to see toy story 3, Splash leisure pool in Sheringham, Dinosaur Adventure Park near Norwich, Bewilderwood Outdoor adventure park
Above all else don't allow weather forecast's to get you down.

Hi camdm, thanks so much for the above, it's such a shame I never managed to see it before we went away! We got back last night, and I have to say we had a right mixed bag of weather. Wed night torrential rain, but after that a mix of sun and showers until sunday. We had a look at the sea sunday evening, oh my god it was spectacular watching the waves crashing against the pier! I didn't sleep too well, but the Dandy and motorhome awning stood up to it all very well. I only know of one tent on our site coming down, luckily they were with friends who took them in. The last two days were beautiful, and we had a wonderful day at Bewilderwood. It made the bad weather days a distant memory.

We've just got back from Clippesby Hall and just about survived the torrential rain which went on for about 30 hours!! Never known anything like it!! Luckily we did have a nice couple of days before we left and we mostly dried out for packing away. This was my first camping holiday in the last 3 years (and we have camped quite a few times) where I really wanted at one point to give it up and go home but now we are packed away for this year can't wait to plan where to go next year!!
