We had a couple of small holes in the groundsheet. Not a huge problem however I'd like to fix them. The best suggestion I have is to use gaffer tape on the underside.

Any better suggestions?

Both sides sounds a good idea. We have a carpet so that would cover the gaffer tape :)

Round off the corners of the gaffer tape patch a bit before applying it...saves the corners from lifting off so easily.

We take a big roll of black duct tape with us for exactly this reason. When in place it blends in remarkably well.

Use Tenacious tape on both sides, it is made for the purpose and you will not have an unsightly repair that you have to hide with rugs.
