As I'm packing all the equipment for the hol's this weekend, Im trying to reduce space and looking at my food supply with all sorts of bottles and packets for spices, I had a brainwave.... And...... genius that I am, found an old tablet dispenser ( the ones that hold a weeks pills in little compartments) hey presto, I've got salt, pepper, mixed herbs, chinese 5 spice, oxo cubes, salad cream, cornflour and mustard all in neat compartments. Just had to tell of my little brainwave.... But..... I can't get a teaspoon in to get it out with but the end of a knife will do :)

i got a set of empty 'holiday' bottles from £-land/primark, the kind you decant your makeup and stuff into...(the ones in primark have two tall bottles and an assortment of small phials and small flat containers)
i have filled the tall bottles one with cooking oil and one with wash-up liquid...
the small phial type bottles i filled with chilli powder, salt, curry powder, garlic powder...
the flat containers i filled with pepper...
and the best bit is...
all the above plus a tube of tom puree and assorted oxo cubes and a small container of gravy granules all fit in a fairly small flat 'lock-n-lock' box...

and thats my 'cooks kit'..i would be lost without it...

edit....just to say the wash-up liquid doesn't go in the cook kit....that would just get messy !!!! and make the gravy foamy!!!

Two clever bunnies already, they do multiply fast! If it was me I'd have come up with some over the top expensive idea. We took my lovely salt and pepper grinders this year and promptly broke them, turns out they are expensive to get now, that's the sort of clever idea I have.

Aha I love all this inventiveness. Keep it going as OH would like to have all camping gear fit into a matchbox...But I'm working on it.. Put his stuff in a matchbox and I'll have more room for a new walldrobe :)
