Hey guys,
Got back from Wolds Way yesterday after some 40mph winds throughout Sunday and Sunday night but pleased to report our Nevada M survived despite the carnage around us. :)
There were 4 tents in our party. Two Cabanon trailer tents, a Montana and our Nevada. Our windbreak was the first victim snapping in half at the joints. Then we rushed to take the gazebos down.
We went out for lunch to get out of the winds for a while and came back to find the canopy had been blown down off the front of one of the trailer tents. What was worse was looking around and seeing some of the other tents basically in heaps or ripped to shreds with snapped poles sticking out of them and never seen so many broken windbreaks just dumped by the bins.
We expected the trailer tents to be okay and the Monty with it's steel poles so our Nevada was the only concern but once we'd replaced some rather bent pegs with stronger ones, then aligned the car to block some of the wind it survived right through. By Monday morning there was only our camp, another Monty and a small 2 man which was out of the wind by the shower block remaining.
Felt bad for the other people but so pleased about our tent. Least now we know it's been well and truly tested!
