We made the mistake of asking a friend away camping with us for a couple of nights. He had already told me that he wore earplugs because his wife snored (she was working so didn't come) but I have never heard anyone snore as badly as he did! He could snore on the in and out breath!! He was sleeping in the awning and woke OH and me up (and I admit to getting the giggles and rocking the whole FC) and in the morning said 'did you hear that person snoring last night?' He was mortified when we told him it was actually him!!

Maybe his wife doesn't snore, but hasn't the heart to tell him?

When I had my DD the woman in the bed next to me was a really loud snorer... of course in a maternity ward you are up half the night anyway with babies crying but it really is a gross sound to listen to when you are awake and very close and trying to breastfeed.

Earplugs are definitely the way to go - wish I'd tried them years ago. A mate of mine gets industrial ones from his work - they are much better than any shop bought ones that I've tried.
