Weve just got back from a bank holiday away and it may not be the most disaster filled weekend ever but it didnt go entirely to plan.

The campsite was lovely but right next to a main road so we had very little sleep. Sounded like tractors and farm vehicles all through the night.

Weather was ok but good have been better.

Got back one day to find everything had fallen over in the kitchen tent, no serious damage.

Friends porch collapsed on the front of their tent.

Front of our vermont xl shed a fews pegs but no damage.

Forgot a chair.

Broke a chair.

Broke a table.

Broke one of the pole springs on the wardrobe.

Dog bit through two guy lines.

Dog tore a huge great hole in the front of the tent.

Burnt the chocolate tiffen (still ate it).

So how did you do?

Bugger! Sounds like you have got all your bad luck over in one trip. Should be trouble free next time! Good luck

Really feel for you, Jamen, as I post 'jinxed holiday' and was waiting for something else to go wrong, after a list of disasters!

Oh well, makes the holiday more interesting and you'll be talking about it for months on end!

Best wishes Sam

Oh dear, at least no one got hur and you survived the weather of the last few days!

In time you'll be able to laugh, some of our experiences are like carry on camping!

Breakages:

Both air beds

Roofbox

2 mugs

New tarp- unveiled for first time to reveal three holes (small)

Illnesses:

DD ran high temp at first site.

I suffered an allergic reaction to a bite on the bottom of my foot at the end of the holiday and spent three days hobbling and limping whacked out by anti histimines.

Had a great time regardless!

I ALWAYS check the site on Google Maps. And then avoid any that are close to roads

We had a two night trip in July which thankfully was very local to home.  Our youngest son started throwing up around half past eleven at night!! Not good.  We did not have any spare bedding so OH had to drive home there and then with him. Thankfully it was just one of these 24 hour bugs...... which he passed onto all of us
