Hi just wondered if anyone does this or is it not advisable and if so what are the reasons for not sleeping in the living area of your tent.
We were after a smaller tent for one/two night stays and the kids do like there own space they are 13 and 15 boy and girl and thought we might sleep in the living area and let them have the two bedrooms.
Thanks in advance

yes you can sleep in the living area of a tent and many people do, one thing with it is most living areas are only single skin so condensation is somthing to watch out for also privacy when people from the pods are going to the toilet at night
many people use a small pop up tent in the sleeping area and put the children in that, it may be a way for you to go you have a pod and put the younger of the two in a pop up in the living area

with a pop up in the main tent area you dont need to peg it out or guy it as they stay up on there own and the main tent is protecting it from the elements
in the day put the bedding in one of the other pods and just fold up the pop up and you have your living space back
it is an easy solpution and the pop up sell for as low as £20.00

The pods give some insulation and also a smaller space to be heated by your bodies / breath at night.
The living area of a tent will be colder, but that isn't a problem as long as you keep yourself insulated from the cold ground and have good warm pjs together with a decent sleeping bag or duvet.
Just make sure you close the curtains before you disrobe and also that you have a "shout (quietly) before you come out of the pod" policy with the youngsters...

We regulalry used to sleep in the living area of our first tent (Sunncamp APS 3006+), the kids had a pod each and the 3rd pod was for the loo/storage.
We had a sofa bed in the living area and just used to sleep on that at night.

We used to sleep in the living area of the Orchy......it was much colder, and the condensation was a problem.
Mine sleep in the same pod now....or don`t come!!

We have a Norfolk Lake, and they get their own space in that one, but we`ve just been away for a week and they shared a three berth pod all week.....one argument ( cos little un is messy and big un has OCD) I was pleasantly suprised.

We have Outwell Montana 6 and kids are in one pod and if granny comes she gets other pod and me and OH sleep in living area, we try and keep vents open all night if not too cold, to help with condensation, and we store our mattress ontop of others in bedroom pods during the day.
If anyone needs anything in middle of night it's always me that they wake anyway so it's no hassle for us.
