We went away last weekend for the first time with the awning. Consequently I have a couple of questions. How does one stop the front of the tent sagging when the awning is on? You can't guy the front of the tent out, as the awning and groundsheet are in the way. Also, the elasticated bit of the roof of the awning seemed to press on the roof of the tent - is that right? Which way around should we have put the groundsheet? There seem to be a yellow toggle and a red toggle - what do they correspond to? Do the flaps of the awning go UNDER the groundsheet once it's down?
Finally, should there be TWO toggle holes by the door zip on the right hand side (looking from inside)? We only have one, so the middle window at the front had half the curtain dangling in mid air. I didn't want to put it through the other toggle hole, as it obstructed the zip. Should I be taking it back to Go Outdoors?
Sorry for the long post, but your assistance would be much appreciated.
TIA
Angela

I think with all these things it is a case of getting the tent pitched perfectly - never happens that way. If you get the tent properly in line then it shouldn't sag, fully pegged out should be enough - easier said than done. You are right though it does render the guy ropes useless.
I don't think I had the elasticated section pressing but did get some points of the awning touching the roof of the tent.
I am not sure about the groundsheet - I am guessing that the different colour toggles marry up with the 2010 Monty - mine's a 2005 so no chance there. I simply went for the best possible fit although it took some fine tuning. I would put the flaps outside - if it rains you want the flaps to channel the water away from the tent rather than into it. Became rather anal about this much to OH's annoyance!
Without looking I couldn't be sure about toggle holes but certainly didn't have the middle window curtain dangling and think that this was the one we most frequently rolled up.
This is the best pic I have got of the inside of the awning - do you have any pics of the problem areas?
Thanks for the reply, Simon. From your pic, I can see that your front curtain DOES attach to the front door when it's open, so there must be a toggle hole there, otherwise you couldn't have the door open without the curtain dangling. I'm not sure if I'm being picky about this - would you speak to Go Outdoors about it? It just seems that when you're paying so much money for something, it should be PERFECT, not just OK.
Unfortunately, I don't have any pics of the problems. Next time it's up, I'll take some.
Thanks again.

we don't have the monty, but have a Colorado 5 also by outwell, and it also has a front extension that attaches to the front of the tent and in the way ofthe front guys on the tent.
There are 3 forward guys on the front of the tent. When using the extension we don't use the central guy on the tent. the 2 side guys are at the corners of the roof and side of the tent and these we manage to slip between the gap in the extension and the tent and peg them out.
The extension has exactly the same guy configuration as the front of the tent so we don't worry about the central guy from the tent anymore. I don't know if you can achieve a similar setup with the Monty but hope this might help
