does anyone out there have a outwell hartford xxl the older style with the top cover,
every time we put ours up we never seem to get the top and under tent lined up properly.
has any of you nice people got any ideas.
thanks Amanda.
There should be points on the inside of the flysheet for tying it to the poles of the inner - getting them in the right place to tie down is the key to success!
yes i use the velcro ties and and the plastic clips we always line up the sky light and it apears to be lined up until its up and we go to peg top sheet down its really weired.
We have the older Harford XL and have always had this problem. I compalned when we first bought it as the inner seemed 'skew whiff' and didn't fit the outer. The replacemenht was mariganlly better...but still not perfect. We find that if we erect the inner then put the outer on....peg down loosely and then shake the whole thing...it does tend to form a better 'shape'. However, if it's erected on uneven ground it doesn't seem to fare well at all and seems to make the problem worse. it's just a case of tweaking I'm afraid.
That said, the tent has been up in ALL weathers, never leaked, never blown down, always solid and still going strong after 5 years.
i think it must just be how it is then, i have to agree with you on the point of how good the tent is in all weathers we have had ours two years now i bought it off my freind and been several times now in some really bad weather on a cliff top location and its always done us pround and stood strong.
i have a strange question but its good to talk to someone who has the same model as mine do your bedroom compartments sag
thanks
Amanda
Hi Leesdna, I have an old style hartford L and our bedroom compartments used to sag. This year we pegged out the inner before we put the poles in and it really helped give the bedrooms a better shape, hardly any sagging. This might help with your other problem too.
Good luck!
And as previous comments, out outwell has stood up to gales and storms, still solid after 3 years.
