Hi to you all

We spent a very nice weekend away camping we had a little bit of rain Saturday afternoon but not enough to spoil our fun, tent was tested by this rain not a drip to be found :-)
All was going well until Sunday morning the day of our return, we woke to the sound of heavy and persistant rain, not what you want on the day you leave, we decided to sit it out for some time but to no avail it rained non stop.

So we started to pack it all away inside the tent it was dry, but outside puddles formed all around.
Loaded the car with all but the tent and footprint and it then eased off slightly, having read the horror stories of wet tents flooding cars we decided best to get on with it or we will be staying here forever.

I decided to try shaking the poles and was amazed to see most of the water run off the outside and packed it away damp but not dripping wet, on our return we pitched it in the garden and was shocked at how dry it was, then it rained for 15 minutes or so then the sun returned and a good breeze to help us dry it out within a few hours the whole tent was bone dry and packed away.

So now we dont have a dread of what if it rains again lol

Glad you had a good time. No wet tent either.

I bet you are planning your next trip already

Hi Peter & welcome to the forum

Pleased to hear that your first camping wasn't a disaster, and that you had the luck of good weather long enough to dry out your tent when you got home.

Yes planning another trip soon, waiting for the weather to settle down a little.

I assume wet tent packing is top of most campers fears
