i  wonder  if its   like  criss crossing  underneath you with elecrtic  wires and  acting as a   potential  landing pad  lure for lightning strikes ?

also  how well  is the switchgear  addapted  to  condensation   lying  on the cold  groundsheet of the tent ?   I suppose if you took  adequate precautions it may be  do- able   with a degree of safety   but i would want both the adjustable  switches in some sort of   water resisatant housing  personally .

OH is an electician and is quite happy with the safety issues. We have the switch in the bedroom pod on the floor blanket so haven't noticed any problem with condensation.

And lightening...well I understand it hits the highest point, hopefully that keeps me safe on my blanket.

When this query crops up, people who have used electric blankets with no problems to date report that. Others will express caution about using electric items designed for domestic in-house use in a field and report their own satisfaction with good quality tent specific bedding, occasionally topped up with a hot water bottle!

Your choice.
