Now I can't even begin to compete with the fantastic "photo story" posted previously by Sceptical Camper, but I thought some of you might enjoy seeing some more shots from this lovely "back to basics" site in Norfolk!

After a brief delay whilst we repaired OH's car with Duck tape, we finally arrived at our "Norfolk home" about 1pm on Friday. As ever first priority was to get the Beta350 pitched - we chose a spot across by the trees this time but in future will probably revert back to the other side by the new hedge as it does get less crowded.

Tent safely pitched and OH off getting water, and I got the inside sorted out - doesn't take long with a small tent and minimal equipment:

With the kettle on to boil I felt that a visit to the facilities was required - the hedge wasn't really quite thick enough next to our pitch!

Looking back across the site:

Similar direction, but from a little further up the site:

And the other way - Loking towards the farm buildings and the washblock this time:

And finally, the washblock:

After a bite of lunch and a cup of tea, we headed off along the coast road for a walk at Blakeney - birds galore and a lovely area for walking. Then back to Sheringham just as it was starting to get dark - fantastic light for pictures and a nice rough sea:

The following day we headed off on foot on the path that runs from the site through the woods to the road - for those that know the site it emerges right next to the lane to Kelling Heath Park and is then just a short stroll down the road to Weybourne Station on the North Norfolk Railway. This weekend was their 1940's weekend, so lots of great sites around the three stations and in Sheringham itself:

Last of all, a nice vintage caravan for any shed-pullers reading this!

Lovely pictures, looks like a really nice site.

I'm having major withdrawal now as we had our last trip a couple of weekends ago and we've just put the tent in the loft  until next year!

Excellent, EH, really excellent. Thank you for posting these great photos - they really capture Breck Farm so well, a great reminder of my recent stay there. I love the vintage caravan!

And well done to you and your OH for mending the car with duct tape. What was the problem? Not a puncture I hope?

I noticed the preparations for the North Norfolk Railway's 1940s weekend but, as you'll have read, I had to leave on the Friday. When I was at Sheringham station workmen were installing a plywood dance floor in front of a bandstage so I bet it was a good weekend.

I owe you heartfelt thanks as you were the first to recommend Breck Farm to me. Oh, and thank you for the very complimentary comment about my story.

Yeah! It's fast becoming UKCS's worst-kept secret LOL

BTW, I owe you a vote of thanks too for the recommendation.

LOL at SC!! No, not a puncture thankfully - a bit of trim that had fallen down from below the engine/front bumper. Nothing too vital, but as it was still attached at one end it had to be reattached the rest of the way along its length, and the duct tape seemed to be the best thing for the task! It's not the first car I've had which could claim to be held together with sticky tape and string......!

You are welcome to the recommendation - it's such a fab site!

The 1940's weekend was great fun, and I would recommend it to anyone as an excellent way of passing a weekend just wandering round seeing what people are up to.
