I was going to reassure you that it's not just you, but I think that has been done already!!
One of my best purchases (that I was ridiculed for) this year was a pack of 3 plastic bottles in a clear plastic bag, designed for shampoo etc. I filled them with tomato ketchup, sunflower oil and washing up liquid.
Of course when I did a fry up on our camping trip they were then elevated in everybody's opinion!!
I have since found that they are also dishwasher safe, so I don't need to worry about finding things growing in them when we start camping again next year!

That's not a bad idea! Hmmm.......might have to nip out to the shops (again) later.
